Tom Williams & The Boat are surely one of the more interesting (and extremely underrated) English bands around at the moment.

In the depressing world of Mumford & Sons inspired faux-folk shite its nice to hear an artist with clever lyrics and a real rock edge. Tom has such an emotive voice; he’s like a sinister teddy bear – it seems all warm and friendly but there’s a dark undercurrent. As the below track suggests, they are extremely good live so don’t miss them if you get a chance.
